What was I thinking?

It all started when I found myself with a lot of spare time for the first time since I was 6 years old.

The infamous “corporate life” was over and I can honestly say that I don’t get bored from sleeping late and watching Netflix et al. into the early morning hours. But shouldn’t I be doing something - how will I explain the “idle time” in my CV?.

Yes, of course, there is charity work I should be doing - and I will, I promise….. I have a lose plan and i’ll get to that as well,

I always wanted to learn how to play the bass guitar (so cool) but let’s face it: I am too old to turn into the next Nik West (yeah, look her up) and I would have to give up at least half a centimeter of my fingernails (no, I am not that vain, my fingertips are just really sensitive, I couldn’t even type these words without my nails!)

I have also wanted to be a Stand Up Comedian (well, actually in my language that is a “Kabarettistin” which would not require me to remain standing up…) and if you know me then you know that there are plenty of stories to laugh about .. ahem …. with me. Well, this one is still sort of on my list but being a bit risk-adverse I will start smaller - I’ll write up stuff and see if you find it funny or or interesting and take it from there.

The Travelling Heels?

Some reasonable people out there might ask - why would anybody walk around, let alone travel in high heels?

I have at least 3 answers to that

  1. because I can!
years or practice and pain have not only taught me how to walk, but also which shoes work for which occasion (or more exactly, which surface or “territory”) - and of course also how to fall, esp. when wearing skirts!

  2. because I am short
I love going to concerts and for the moment I am not yet too old for the standing spots in front… in fact, I am one of those who rush in to be in the front row (often you find me in the front row towards the right), but if I am not quite fast enough (or the extra special tickets didn’t buy me early entrance) then I will have people in front of me and statistically the majority of them would will be taller than me - not so, if my shoes added 12 centimeters

  3. most importantly for the same reason why mountaineers climb a mountain: because THEY ARE THERE (something, I learnt from James T. Kirk by the way)

So, going forward I will share some of my more exciting adventures here and I will show you the shoes that carried me while making them.. While this will include pictures of cool shoes, I am not planning on another style blog. It will just be me, writing about stuff, that happened to me while I was wearing high heels, i.e. almost anytime I am awake.
